WEDDING BELLS.

An interesting wedding- ceremony was conducted at the residence of the bride's parents, Wilson Street, by the Rev. J. G. Chapman, this afternoon, when Miss Ruth Signal, second daughter of Mr James Signal, was united to Mr George Leonard Buckley, tlie popular" bandmaster of the Wanganui Garrison Band; Tlie bride, who was given away by her father, was becomingly attired in a dainty travelling costume of grey tweed, with electric blue and cream trimmings. She also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms and carried a choice shower bouqtiet of clematis and greenery. She was attended by Miss Buckley, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a grey tweed costume, with white trimmings, black hat, and carried a pretty bouquet of similar flowers. It was but fitting that Mr James Crichton, conductor of the Band, with whom the bridegroom has been so intimately associated, should act as best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony the guests, of whom there were a largo number, were entertained at the wedding bre'akfasf, which Was 'tastefully laid out in a large marque: 'Here the happy couple received the Congratulations of the company, their health being enthusiastically toasted. As Mr "and Mrs Buckley are so well-known ■ and have such a large circle of friends, by whom they are held in the highest estimation, it was but natural that they should have been the recipients of a very large number af useful nnd valuable presents, inchiding one from the members of the Garrison Band, whichconsisted of a handsome pair of silver reversible entree dishes and a silver salver, on which latter was inscribed "To Bandmaster Buckley, from the Wanganui Garrison Band, on his marriage. September 5, 1905." ■ By the afternoon train the newlywedded pair left en route for Dunedtn, the former home of the bridegroom, where the honeymoon is to be spent, taking with them the best wishes of "their many friends for their future happiness and prosperity.
