Really Really good, but....

From start to finish I was engaged and taking notes. Practically a therapist on your phone, really good actionable tips and insights from someone who really understands being under the influence. However I wish there could be a new edition of this book with revisions as at times it felt a little dated.
Presumably at the time the book was written high-speed internet adult content was not as prevalent as it is today. Internet content was only occasionally mentioned in-passing and only remedy was to just "set up rules".
it referenced magazines, adult shops, adult movie theaters and topless bars (the latter of which I had to look up because I didn't believe such places existed).
While the principles are still the same and they still are effective such as practicing mindfulness and persistent self dialogue that helps with discipline.
I feel like it could really use an update, barring that its still worth a listen.

Helpful if you decide to follow the exercises.

It's also very self-analytical. The exercises are beneficial for battling this type of addiction. Happy recovery everyone!

A Genuinely Profound Book

This book will have the most bang-for-your-buck to those recovering sex addicts that have some recovery work under their belt already.
The reason that was stated is because the insights are meant for those who have some awareness of their addictive behaviors already.

Now, I prefer to keep reviews impersonal, but I can truly say this book was just what I needed for my stage in recovery. For those wondering, that is a little over a year of focused recovery work, I will say a few months (about 6 months) of recovery. This will also benefit those in early-stages in recovery, but if that's you, definitely revisit this book later. For those in late-stages of recovery, this will be a real eye-opener to why certain methods work and why you compulsively behaved in a certain way.

I have gained a quantum leap in progress and understanding through the insights and exercises provided in this book. A MUST to have in recovery literature for the sex addict, and consu

Out of the dozens pieces of literature I have digested, this has a spot in the top three.
