I bought this game for the full $60 and the experience is absolutely worth it, and I think it is a shame there is no No Man's Sky Merchandise because Hello Games deserves every penny. It is gorgeous, its narrative is Meta but the 4th wall is never broken. The main plot centers around you and others like you known as Travelers. As a Traveler you have no apparent purpose. (people complain about that) You awake to a hostile planet, a ship and an echo of a lost signal somewhere in the stars. The gameplay loop consists of 'cutscene warping' to solar systems, harvesting resources on many hazardous/ gorgeous planets, crafting products and selling to the local Aliens.Your exosuit/survivability , ship, weapon, freighters, and exocrafts are can be bought and upgraded by installing modules you can purchase, find, or be gifted by NPC's.Progression is relative to you and the experience you want from the game. The game is optimized so that accruing currency is easy, accessible, and more than worth the effort. The music. It completes every experience. It envokes an ethereal, mysterious, yet strangely intimate atmosphere. It's by 65daysofstatic.My love to this game is owed to way I get immersed in a way that most games aren't able to do so. No other open world game is as open world as NMS. Every other game no matter how big, is just that big and you will always hit its boundary. That will never happen in NMS. The game, within itself is limitless.I really love this game.

I've been playing games for a very long time. In that time, I've naturally played a large variety of sci-fi games. But the kind that always left me feeling like they weren't quite delivering were games like Privateer, or Elite 2, or Freelancer. Games that give you the promise of exploring space in your own ship, but then confine you to that ship at all times, outside of maybe some prerendered, fixed space station or on-planet art.

There was one game that was an exception to that. It was a game I played on the Amiga 500, back in the day. It was called Damocles (or, in Europe, Mercenary 2: Damocles, apparently). It turned you loose in a single solar system and gave you an objective and a spaceship, but you could do so much more. You could land on most of the planets and moons in the system, leave your spaceship, and go exploring on foot, searching inside various buildings for various things. I adored that game, and after thoroughly discovering all its secrets, was always on the lookout for something that would recapture that feeling.

Enter Hello Games with No Man's Sky. The basic promise was exactly what I wanted, writ large: a galaxy of systems, yours for the exploring. Planets and space stations to land on, and upon doing so you were free to disembark from your ship to walk around and explore on foot. Here it was, the game I wanted, finally, in 2016.

Fast forward 3 years to the newest incarnation of No Man's Sky. After a series of major updates that continued to add to and expand the base game, Beyond takes everything even further with full ambient multiplayer, full VR support, and countless quality of life improvements.

I loved it at launch, and I love it even more now. It is a game that I have continued to play whenever I have the urge to zoom around the galaxy, and I honestly don't think I'll ever stop playing. (Unless they make a sequel, maybe.)

I can't say that this game will appeal to everyone. But it appeals to me perfectly in so many ways. If you've ever wanted a game that gives you the vastness and beauty of space, and lets you fly through it at your pace without pushing excessively to do certain tasks, give No Man's Sky a try. It's the best it's ever been, and it just keeps getting better.

Thanks, Hello Games.

Changes what you know about video games and what they can be. The game does not hold your hand, but if you get off your first planet and stick with it, you will be rewarded with exciting exploration, breathtaking visuals, addicting base building, and a one-of-a-kind experience.

I mean truly one-of-a-kind: my friend and I both started playing this game at the same time a few months ago, and when we talk about the game, aside from the gameplay basics, it sounds like we could be describing two different games. He has come across stuff I've never seen in 100+ hours, and likewise I've seen things he hasn't! It's pretty remarkable.

I'm usually not one for basebuilding and resource hunting (more of a Far Cry/Assassins Creed fan), but this game has me 100% hooked. It's so exciting to open up the game and always see something new, and yet it's such a mellowing, peaceful experience, always calms me down.

I think it's because of my age that this game bores me. It's like playing Minecraft, but with a science fiction theme. There are endless amounts of worlds and the worlds are literally huge. So in my opinion, this game is bigger and better than Minecraft still. But, I'm just not into sandbox games. Still, I spent at least 3 hrs/day addictively playing the game for a couple of weeks. Definitely 5 stars if you're into that sort of gameplay; I'm more into FPS.

Bought this for my son (20) for Christmas. He primarily plays Madden and NBA 2K21 but he had seen this and thought it might be fun. He absolutely LOVES it! He has played for hours! He is frequently asking someone to come into his room to show them a new planet or what he has found. I am getting one for our younger son now because he wants to play, too. This game is unique and seems endless.

Not sure if I'm supposed to be reviewing the game or reviewing the shipping so this is going to be a mixture of both I guess. No man's sky is one of those games where I can go to if I'm expecting a good time. I played about 50 to maybe 60 hours at this game and I have yet to get bored if you like exploring other planets and talking to funny aliens and finding cute pets and playing with friends I do recommend this game and I'm pretty sure that it's just going to get better. As for the shipping, it's Amazon shipping. What were you expecting? Hello games to come down and give it to you personally? No

No Man's Sky is notorious in the gaming industry for disappointing a lot of people, but 3 years later, Beyond exceeds the initial expectations that we had when the game came out. The VR mode is simply breathtaking, and a game that originally had nothing to do, now has too much to do!

If you own the original release from 2016, Beyond is a free update. But if you are jumping in for the first time, this is a great way to get the last 7 updates on one disc for a really good price.

This is a big game and requires a lot of grinding to progress. Not a pick up and play game. Need hours or days of endless work which is not worth the payoff.
