Veterans Preference (VP)

undefined Veterans Preference (VP)?

Veterans who are disabled or who served on active duty in the armed forces during certain recognized periods, or in military campaigns, are entitled to preference over other qualified candidates from competitive lists of eligible applicants. They are also provided protection for retention consideration during reductions in force (RIFs). Veterans preference entitles veterans to employment preference for most Federal civil service jobs.
