GIFT as a Yuzuru Hanyu ice show captivated and mesmerized the viewers. It is all his programs wrapped in a beautiful package to be unwrapped for the viewers as they go on a journey with him together. It offers an overview of the 12 decorated years of Yuzuru Hanyu in figure skating as well as his hopes and dreams for the future. In GIFT, it became evident in the story telling. He took all the programs of his past and made peace with them. Then he introduces new routines to demonstrate his evolution beyond competitive skating, using songs and music not often heard or used in figure skating. It's a seamless transition from one program to another.
To say GIFT is merely a beautiful ice show is an understatement. It is a new genre of entertainment, pioneered by Yuzuru Hanyu for those who loves Hanyu Yuzuru skating. It's meant to be a show you could revisit time and time again, no matter the occasion, whether you are happy or sad. It's meant to comfort you and cheer for you, all at the same time. It's meant to show how much Yuzuru Hanyu loves skating. And I for one, am glad to say I love his skating too.

GIFT from Yuzuru Hanyu is truly a gift to its viewers. While it might be labeled as an Ice Show, it is so much more - really difficult to describe. Hanyu is not only the best figure skater of all times, but a true artist who has created with GIFT a genre of its own. Yuzuru tells us his story of life in a very deep and emotional way, allowing us to relate very closely to his inner struggles so that somehow this becomes also our own individual stories. All the while, he skates incredibly beautiful programs with a wide variety of styles & music type. Gorgeous, sometimes etheral costumes, and great visual effects - it‘s simply so great to watch. Definetely a Top Event program that no one should miss !

GIFT is the most fabulous ice show of all times!It conveys so much thought and emotion,not just about Yuzu's life,but also everyone's.Like he said,it's the story of your past and future.Whenever you're lost or feel lonely,you can always come back to this performance to seek Yuzu's comfort.He is such a great person.And this show just exceeds everyone's wildest dreams.

Kyogen performer Mansai Nomura said of the Tokyo Dome performance of GIFT, "It is a modern-day Hamlet that is moving forward with words, body, and action," and I was astounded by his apt description.
On the way to the station after the show, I overheard an audience member anxiously talking with his companion, "I wonder if he has recovered yet (from the Olympics, where he was not even allowed to fail). To the world, he was an athlete who kept working hard and never showed any signs of weakness. The audience probably did not expect to see "GIFT" as a show consisting of Yuzuru Hanyu's monologue about confronting his inner self.
Why the title "GIFT"?
When the solution to this mystery was revealed at the end of the show, I felt an inexpressible emotion swirling inside me at the conflicts that arose because he had chosen to live a thoughtful life and the importance of living with integrity as a human being. I felt that "GIFT" is a guidepost for people in the process of making a series of choices to live their lives in a lost way.
Avant-garde stage direction by director MIKIKO, Rhizomatiks, and ELEVENPLAY. Live music by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and a special band. A spectacularly decorated stage, where he challenges with all his might. How much conflict did he have to face in expressing the beauty of art sports, which is both a sport and an art? He portrays it in a surprisingly unencompassing way. On the other hand, he does not always seek consent. The complexity of his personality is mysterious and makes you want to watch "GIFT" over and over again to ask yourself the same questions. It is an addictive work.
