    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Load Balancer does not process *
    * the promiscuous mode setting in *
    *                      lbexecutor.conf file                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    On AIX, the Load Balancer must be configured as promiscuous
    for certain adapter cards or to run network trace tools
    concurrently with the Load Balancer.
    The promiscuous mode can be set by modifying the
    lbexecutor.AIX file but this setting is overwritten when
    fixpacks are applied. The recommended configuration is to add
    the modification to lbexecutor.conf which is not overwritten
    when service is applied.
    The LB_PROMISCUOUS (or LB_PROMISCOUS) value is read from the
    lbexecutor.conf file after it is used by the Load Balancer so
    it has no effect.

Problem conclusion

  • Modifyied the processing order so that the setting is read
    from lbexecutor.conf before the option is applied by the Load
    Balancer.
