Film review for The Jaime Foxx vampire movie

Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco star in "Day Shift," a vampire hunting movie. The story is about a hardworking blue collar dad who wants to provide a decent life for his smart daughter. But his boring job cleaning pools in San Fernando Valley, California, is only a facade for his real income source, hunting and killing vampirics as part of the international Union of vampire hunters.

The premise sounds exciting, but can J.J. Perry deliver on it?

Jamie Foxx and a young lady named Vampire are in a crazy action scene that opens "Day Shift". The sequence then turns into a mad fight between the two. I feel like the movie really has fun with this kind of rag-doll physics in its action scenes, making those sequences pop in a way that a lot of the Netflix action movies (or action blockbusters these days) don't. It's easy not to think about the old saying, "action speaks Louder than words". I believe that Day Shift is able to successfully use dialogue and action to help the plot and character growth. For example, after Jamie Foxx's character finally kills the vampire, he has a hilariously dry exchange with his partner about how he "thought she was going to turn into a bat or (Day Shift review) something." These are the moments that make "Day Shift", a movie unlike any other.

Day Shift has the quality of a bad movie. It's obvious what they were trying but it was so disappointing. It's a poor production with mediocre acting and a stilted dialogue. The plot is also void of any real substance. Yet, somehow I enjoyed it. Maybe it's because it was vampire movies I love, or maybe it is because I just like bad movies. Either way, I had a good time watching Day Shift. It's not a great movie, but it's a lot of fun. This is all I expect from a movie like that.

Day Shift was an interesting movie. One side is that there is lots of action and some fun characters (the brother and Seth), and on the other, the villain was terrible and there were many mediocre people. It appeared that there were some scenes that were not shown. Bud's neighbor acts almost like they're close friends, even though Bud only had three minutes of screen time prior to the final scene. This makes the characters who are better than others shine even more. Overall, it is a good movie. However, it could have been much better.

Snoop Dogg makes this movie well worth it. Snoop Dogg is the best! He's the epitome cool.
