Skeptics often raise the following two objections against the gospels and their reliability: First, the authors didn’t identify themselves, which means that these stories might not actually have been written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Second, there are too many differences between the four accounts. These discrepancies supposedly show that the writers got their facts about the story of Jesus wrong or, worse still, that they made things up.
