The location, the comfortable bed, the quality of the sheets, the pillows and pretty much everything.
The staff are super nice and really take care of you. I love the fact that they had a restaurant below with an amazing wine list, and the views are to die for. Breakfast was full of lots of cakes and other alternatives. A family owned property and relaxing environment.

We pretty much liked everything. It was great, that we could park right nexxt to the hotel in a private (outdoor) car park. The staff was great, we were warmly welcomed, and assisted with our luggage, and we also received help with dinner reservation and a fantastic concert recommendation in the fort. The room was spacious, with views over the Tuscan landscape. The poolm is small but is more than enough to cool down after some sunbathing and relaxing in the garden - which also come with a view + bar service (ice cold prosecco served in a very stylish little bucket). Everything was lovely, breakfast is plenty and tasty, coffee is also great.

Montalcino is a quiet hill town that we love returning to often. We love walking all around town. A 4 hour hike gets you to Sant' Antimo Abbey and then you can take the bus back to town. We love eating at Il Moro and at Osteria di Porta al Cassero as well as Re di Macchia. Great town at the winter holidays!

We stayed in Montalcino two nights, which was about right for people who like wine but aren’t fanatics. Drove all over, got lost, went to Montepulciano (very crowded, steep and hard to get to—was very glad we stayed in Montalcino instead!) enjoyed the Abbey de Sant Altimo south of town, not overrun by people.

If you wish to visit Tuscany, Montalcino is the ideal place to stay. It's a lovely, attractive village with plenty of places to eat and drink. This region also has a lot of good restaurants. It is nevertheless quite close to other important towns and sites that are far more touristic, so I would recommend this area if you want to have a lot of options without being in the most touristic and busy locations around.

Fantastic little town. Some great restaurants.
Fantastic little town. Some great restaurants. Right in the best wine area in Italy. You will love it! Re di Macchia Restorante was so good. The best Florentine steak we ever had. Good prices and the owner Antonio gave us round after round of free Limincello and grappa. He is the best!!!!
When we pulled up, we were in absolute awe of this location. Very majestic on a hill top over looking the endless fields for miles and miles. Out of all the hotels we stayed at in Italy, this is one we treasured the most. The ancient walls with a modern convenience were more than we expected. Some reviewers mentioned the dinning being pricy but you truly get what you pay for. Dinner was impeccable with an amazing view so it was very much with it. Book this place, you won’t regret it.
The location and in particular the view from the hotel terrace are stunning
Breakfast was good, stuff very helpful. The location of the hotel on the edge of the little town is perfect -
Allows you to drive up to the hotel and park your car.
Montalcino is charming, the perfect location, to experience the beauty of Southern Tuscany - it also has various restaurants, some of which are excellent and reasonable; again the hotel recommended two very good ones.
The swimming pool is so beautiful, with a great view of the vineyards and the olive trees! One of a kind!
The room is so big, and for our family of 3 it was perfect! The room has everything you need to feel comfortable!
The staff was so attentive! The wine tasting at the hotel is great. I'd recommend to everyone!
The breakfast was so good, it's worth the extra 15 euros, there was real orange juice with local products and amazing pastries and breads.
Location and views were even better than the photos appear. This winery is lesser known because it’s small but their wines are delicious & well rated and the villa is absolutely lovely! Staff are super nice, they helped us make great dinner reservations, and breakfast in the morning was the highest quality that we had in Italy. Fresh coffee, close to the beautiful town of Montalcino and other cute wineries, we can’t recommend this place enough!
Location is excellent. Hospitality is highly pro - gentility and thoughtfulness towards guest needs. The hotel owners and staff are attentive, discreet/low-keyed, and welcoming. I had small single room with 140cm bed - very comfortable bedding, quiet, classic Tuscan deco (quality), well-appointed small bathroom (shower/bidet/sink/wc) with window. Breakfast room - beautiful views from large bay windows.
We loved everything here. Located near by the centre of Montalcino and only about 100 m away from Eroica start. Apart from the erocia event weekend there was a quiet and very relaxing atmosphere in the house and garden. We really enjoyed it to walk only a few minutes to the centre. Coop is also nearby. We will surely come back! Thanks to the excellent hosts of Villa Stella!
a typical tuscany house with a rustic feel, located in the heart of Montalcino with many restaurants and bars in walking distance, our room offered spectacular views, even from the bathroom, no parking possibility near the premises, it is a Z.T.L (zona traffico limitato), you can access by car within a specified timeframe to drop off and pick up the luggage
Big apartment with 2 bedrooms and a living room. Nice backyard and nice view over Tuscany. Nice and helpful host. Easy check in and check out. You really need a car since the property is about 8km from Montalcino. Free Parking on site. You can find a couple of good restaurants near the property, but make sure you have reservation.
Giacomo was a fabulous host. We arrived too late for the organised wine tasting but he gave us a private session! A la carte Dinner was great & the house Brunello di Montalcino was superb. The room was huge & rustic but with excellent modern bathroom. Very comfortable bed & very clean.
Super location, walking distance to the centre, cosy old building with atmosphere, excellent staff, parking arrangements, excellent breakfast for Italian standards, fantastic view from the hotel terrace, etc. Definitely a place to.consider for stays in Montalcino!
I really liked the management of the hotel. Breakfats was exellent, and the home made cakes were super,my favorite is pears and chocolate cake. Location is very central. The view from breakfast was exeptional.
Old fashioned style of decor and spacious. Good communication with staff who helped us with our bicycles. Windows could be opened, lovely view, quiet and right in the centre of Montalcino.
This is a beautiful hotel outside Monticiano. The view watching the sunset is stunning. The room was gorgeous, up to date and very clean. it’s a short easy drive to Monticiano.
The property was spacious and just right for a family of 4. It was conveniently located in the Montalcino area. The owners were lovely and hospitable and very communicative.
