The Jaime Foxx vampire movie movie review

"Day Shift" is a new vampire hunting movie starring Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco. The movie is about a blue collar working dad who wants to provide for his child's happiness. But, his mundane job at the pool in San Fernando Valley serves as a front for hunting and killing Vampires as part of an international Union of vampiric hunters.

Although the premise sounds great, can J.J. Perry make it work?

The opening scene in "Day Shift" is a crazy action sequence with Jamie Foxx shotgun blasting the hell out of an old lady who turns out to be a vampire, which then becomes this nuts fight sequence between the two of them that is such a blast. I feel like the movie really has fun with this kind of rag-doll physics in its action scenes, making those sequences pop in a way that a lot of the Netflix action movies (or action blockbusters these days) don't. When watching scenes like this it's easy to forget the old saying that "action speaks louder then words". However, I believe part of what makes "Day Shift so successful is its ability to combine dialogue and action to advance the plot and character development. Jamie Foxx's vampire-killing scene ends with him having a funny and dry conversation about how he thought she would turn into a bat or some other creature. It's moments like this that help to elevate "Day Shift" above other similar movies.

Day Shift, is the movie that makes you feel so bad you're actually enjoying it. It is obvious what they wanted to do but they failed so badly. It is lacking in acting ability, dialogue, and plot. I still enjoyed it. Perhaps it's because of my love for vampire movies or because I enjoy bad movies. Day Shift was fun. While it's not the best movie, it's great fun. And really, that's all I ask from a movie like this.

Day Shift had mixed reviews. There are some great action scenes and fun characters (the brothers and Seth), but the villain is terrible and there are a lot more mediocre characters. However, that makes Day Shift even more enjoyable. It seemed like there were missing scenes that were not cut. Bud's neighbor acts as if they are friends even though she had only 3 minutes of screentime before the final scene. Bud made prank phone calls while working at the gas station, which was probably the best scene in the movie. It was hilarious and I enjoyed watching it. The movie's rest was not as enjoyable. So, overall, I'd (link) say that Day Shift is a mixed bag. Some parts are great, and some parts are terrible. However, if you want to have some fun, there are better movies than this one.

Snoop dogg was something I almost forgot to mention. He's amazing in Day Shift. The whole movie is worth it because of him. I mean, his character is hilarious, and he has some great lines. But he is also so natural in his role. It's almost as if he was meant to do it.
