Welcome to Greenland house bed and breakfast a former victorian stone built bank building. It is situated in the quaint highland village of Castletown. Nestled on the Scottish coast line we are situated on the beautiful north coast 500 route , with the famous Dunnet beach with dunes just a five minute walk away. We are a short drive from the world famous John O' Groats and the castle of Mey (former residence of the queen mother) the flow country, historic market towns of Wick and Thurso (were you can catch the ferry to the Orkney or Shetland islands).
We are a family run business operating from our home, we enjoy meeting people from different background and have travelled extensively ourselves. We enjoy the outdoors and love the sea, so Castletown is an ideal location for us.
We are surrounded by some of Scotlands most beautiful landscapes in Scotland , a short distance from us you can experience some of the most spectacular mountains, beaches, woodlands, and the famous Flow country. Five minutes walk away is Dunnet beach great for family days out, picnics and an ideal surfing location . We have spectacular bird watching , things to look out for here are white tailed eagles, puffins, buzzards, curlews and a whole host of other birds. There is a rich and diverse history to see locally many of Scotlands famous Castles, iron age Brochs, standing stones and archeological sights are situated close by. Just a short drive from here are the 2 local market towns of Wick and Thurso. Scrabster our local harbour is a 15 minute drive from here were you can catch the ferry to the beautiful islands of Orkney and Shetland or drive west on to Sutherland to were you will see some of the most spectacular views possible or east down the beautiful cliff lines coast dotted with spectacular stacks and quaint fishing harbours and villages.
