Day Shift starring Jaime Foxx

Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco star in "Day Shift," a vampire hunting movie. The movie is about a blue collar working dad who wants to provide for his child's happiness. But, his mundane job at the pool in San Fernando Valley serves as a front for hunting and killing Vampires as part of an international Union of vampiric hunters.

The premise sounds exciting, but can J.J. Perry deliver on it?

The opening scene of the movie is a bonkers action sequence with Jamie Foxx shotgun blasting the hell out of an old lady who turns out to be a vampire. The two of them then have a wild fight that turns out to be a great time. This movie has a great deal of fun with rag-doll physics, which makes the action scenes pop in a way other Netflix action movies (or blockbusters) don't.

Day Shift has a lot of fun and is not too serious. I was able to enjoy it the entire way. It had original action and didn't require me to think too much. I enjoyed it immensely. It had good humor and I found myself laughing out loud a fair bit. Of course, it was inspired by some fantastic vampire films such Blade and Lost Boys. Both of these films happen to be some my favorite movies. The acting was excellent, the directing was fantastic and the cinematography was very good. Day Shift, a movie that is both enjoyable and not too serious, is worth a look. It's a lot of fun.

Day Shift was a very mixed movie. The movie has a lot to offer, including some action scenes that are fun and some characters like the two brothers and Seth. But the villain is horrible and there are many mediocre characters. That helps the stronger characters shine more. There were scenes missing that were not shown. Bud's neighbor acts like she is a friend even though they only had about 3 minutes each before the final scene. Bud's prank phone calling at the gas station was the best (vampire movies) moment of the movie. It was hilarious and it was so much fun to watch. However, the movie didn't end as well. Day Shift is, in general, a mixed bag. There are parts that are fantastic and others that are horrible. But if you're looking for a few laughs, you could do worse than this movie.

Snoop Dogg is the star of the movie. I mean, who doesn't love Snoop Dogg? He's the definition of cool.
