Day Shift

"Day Shift" is a new vampire hunting movie starring Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco. The story follows a blue collar father who wants to provide a comfortable life for his daughter. However, his job as a pool cleaner in San Fernando Valley is just a façade for his true source of income: hunting and killing vampires for the International Union of Vampire Hunters.

The premise sounds interesting, but can J.J. Perry deliver the goods?

Jamie Foxx and a young lady named Vampire are in a crazy action scene that opens "Day Shift". The sequence then turns into a mad fight between the two. I felt that the movie had a lot of fun using this type of ragdoll Physics in its action sequences, which makes them pop in an action scene that many other Netflix action movies or action blockbusters don't. It's hard not to think of the old adage about how "action speaks louder than words" when watching a scene like this, and while there is certainly some truth to that, I think part of the reason "Day Shift" is so effective is because it knows how to use both action and dialogue to further the plot and character development. For example, after Jamie Foxx's character finally kills the vampire, he has a hilariously dry exchange with his partner about how he "thought she was going to turn into a bat or something." It is moments like these that elevate "Day Shift," over other movies of the same genre.

Day Shift is another non-serious, fun film that I felt I could truly enjoy the entire time. I didn't have to think to much, it had great action that was original and I felt like I was enjoying watching it. It had humor and I laughed a lot. It also referenced some great vampire films like Blade and The Lost Boys, which are also some of my favourite films. The acting was flawless, the directing excellent and the cinematography very impressive. Day Shift is a film that's both entertaining and lighthearted. It's very entertaining.

Day Shift was mixed. The movie has a lot to offer, including some action scenes that are fun and some characters like the two brothers and Seth. But the villain is horrible and there are many mediocre characters. That helps the stronger characters shine more. There seemed to be missing scenes that were cut. Bud's neighbor (Day Shift (2022)) acts like she is a friend even though they only had about 3 minutes each before the final scene. Bud started making prank phone call after she got to work at the gas station. This was the best part of the movie. It was hilarious and it was so much fun to watch. The movie ended and it was not nearly as entertaining. Day Shift is, in general, a mixed bag. Some parts are wonderful, while others are awful. But if you're looking for a few laughs, you could do worse than this movie.

Snoop dogg makes the entire movie worth watching. I mean, who doesn't love Snoop Dogg? He's the embodiment of cool.
