As a Senior Press Officer at Eurostar, you'll be at the forefront of our communication strategy with a keen focus on the Olympics and Paralympics working hand in hand with the UK PR Manager and UK Press Coordinator. You will develop and execute innovative PR campaigns tailored to support broader business objectives. Overseeing communication agencies, you will proactively engage with journalists and ensure a seamless media presence. Leveraging your crisis management skills, you'll help us to navigate challenging situations and act as a credible spokesperson for the organisation,

This role is a 12 month fixed term opportunity, to be based in our London offices near Kings Cross with hybrid working. There is an expectation to travel to other offices for this role, and for on-call working.

We're looking for someone to{{:}}

    • Support the UK PR & Communications Manager on the Olympics, Paralympics and 30-year anniversary in what will be the biggest year Eurostar has seen
    • Support the business objectives by developing and delivering effective, innovative, tailored PR campaigns which underpin the corporate communications and broader commercial strategy. 
    • Proactively brief journalists- broadcast, print and online.   
    • Manage our key communications agencies
    • Demonstrate proficiency in handling media in crisis situations acting - where appropriate - as a spokesperson for the organisation, demonstrating professionalism and credibility at all times
    • Proactive generation of positive media coverage{{:}} identify and develop ‘news' opportunities to maximise coverage potential for the business.
    • Produce high quality written materials, tailored to individual projects, channels and markets
    • Build strong relationships with relevant media in the UK in order to gain maximum media potential from communications campaigns.
    • Plan, manage and direct events taking place being on location as required
    • Develop reactive lines and Q&As to support with issues management
    • Act as a spokesperson on all matters relating to Eurostar including issues/crisis management in periods of disruption, demonstrating professionalism and credibility at all times
    • Work with colleagues across the organisation in a hands-on, collaborative way demonstrating personal credibility and creative thought at all levels.



Requirements

You'll need{{:}}

    • Proven track record in PR and media relations roles in agency and/or in-house environments
    • Experience in Crisis management
    • Strong knowledge of the UK media landscape, and proven experience working with this market
    • Knowledge of the transport/travel sector and experience of working in an international environment are strong advantages
    • Experience in managing communications agencies on major communication and company projects
    • To take part to the on-call system
    • Fluency in English; French language skills a strong advantage
    • Excellent interpersonal and client management skills
    • Creative, flexible, and outgoing personality with a strong sense of responsibility, commitment and drive
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Ability to work independently and to tight deadlines
    • A team player, both service orientated, and results driven
    • Experience building and managing team and project budgets
