A cryptocurrency “flash mob” that pooled together more than $40 million to buy a rare original of the U.S. Constitution lost its bid on the document Thursday. The artifact, which dates back to 1787 and is one of 13 surviving copies, sold for $43.2 million at a Sotheby’s auction. It's perhaps the "most valuable historical document ever sold at auction," per Bloomberg. The crypto group, named ConstitutionDAO, said participants would "of course be refunded."
