Session Type: Structured Poster Session
Given the push to engage K-12 learners with computing ideas under the broad umbrella of computational thinking, there is a need to better understand how teachers and students come to understand and apply these concepts within their context. Much of the recent attention has focused on integrating computational thinking (CT) within mathematics and science. We know little about whether and how CT integration might facilitate learning into Language Arts, Social Studies, and Arts. This session will present work from eight projects focused on integrating CT in K-12 classrooms representing a breadth of content areas in humanities as well as grades. In addition, we target what it means to provide equitable access to these ideas for all learners.
