Space horror sequels like Dracula 3000

Horror movie sequels are usually popular, and viewers yearn for the next fright. What happens when monsters travel to space? 5 horror villains travelled to space. Some succeeded, some didn't.

The Leprechaun

Leprechaun 4: In Space is the sleeper of the Leprechaun horror movie series. Yes, it's set in space, but that's exactly what makes it so mind-numbingly great. Leprechaun 4 is a perfect example of how to take a totally ridiculous premise and turn it into something really "special." The movie is chock-full of practical effects, creative kills, and Leprechaun quotes that will have you rolling on the floor. If you're a fan of Leprechaun movies or horror movies in general, Leprechaun 4: In Space is a must-watch.

Pinhead

Hellraiser: Bloodline is an intriguing continuation of the series that also acts as a precursor to the events that have come before. The narrative jumps between three distinct eras, beginning in the 1700s and ending in the 2200s. My anticipation for the fourth film in the series was not very high, and if we're being honest, I'm really just here for Pinhead and the other Cenobites. Seeing Doug Bradley live is always a treat because he never loses that chilly, menacing, and demonic air that he exudes throughout his shows. This is illogical and difficult to understand, but who cares about any of those things? Pinhead's moments in Bloodline are so horrific that you should see the movie even if you have watched everything else in the Hellraiser or any of the other works that Clive Barker has created, then you definitely need to check out this one. Even if there isn't a whole lot of logic to it, it's still a great fun ride all the same.

Critters

When I found out that Critters 4 was going to take place in outer space, I have to confess that the prospect piqued my interest. I mean, there's no way they can surpass the quality of the previous Critters flicks, is there? After that, though, I looked over the cast list, and I simply couldn't get excited about it. Brad Dourif? Angela Bassett? And what about a well-known Danish actor by the name of Anders Hove? It was impossible for me to fathom how this scenario might possibly play out.

And when I eventually watched Critters 4, my suspicions were validated. The premise was horrible, the characters were bad, and it was just a rip-off of other brands placed in a lousy setting. What truly irritates fans is that the elements that made prior editions distinctive and amusing have been either totally removed or are not there at all. Critters 4 is a total disaster and a major letdown.

Dracula

Dracula 3000 is one of those rare bad horror movies bad horror movie sequels that's so bad it's nearly unwatchable. I love to hate Dracula 3000. Even though it's atrocious throughout its entire run time my main gripe is with the ending was a total cop-out left me utterly unsatisfied . I had hoped "Dracula in Space" would be so bad it's good, but instead it was so bad it was terrible. The premise is fun, but the acting is bad, and the dialogue is absolutely unbearable. I recommend watching it if you want to be miserable the rest of the day.

Coolio, too. Coolio is in it. Did I mention that before?

Jason Voorhees

Jason X is the most well-known horror film sequel in which the villain travels to space. Jason Voorhees is the man, the tale, and the myth. It makes no difference how he arrived into space. Nobody cares why he's in space. All that counts is that Jason is in space, ready to cause mayhem.

I think Jason X is entertaining to watch for the transformation of Jason into Uber Jason as well as the Easter eggs and throwbacks to prior Friday the 13th flicks.

While this movie isn't everyone's bag, it's a terrific viewing for horror movie enthusiasts who adore campy, cheesy, slasher pictures.

Conclusion

Horror movie sequels are a VERY mixed bag. There are certain sequels, such as "Leprechaun 4: In Space," that take an idea that was previously absurd and develop it into something really remarkable. Others, such as Dracula 3000, are so terrible that it is almost impossible to watch them. If you like scary movies, you should look into some of the more notorious horror movie sequels that take place in space. They are sure to be entertaining. Who knows, maybe you'll uncover a new scary movie that becomes your all-time favorite.
