The console.log file contains a message like the following:

JVMJ9VM007E Command-line option unrecognized:
Files\IBM\WebSphere\Liberty\usr\servers\defaultServer\logs\verbosegc.%seq.log,10,1024.
This issue only occurs in Liberty 24.0.0.3.

PROBLEM SUMMARY

USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty Core

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A blank character in a Liberty server's path name causes an error and the server does not start.

RECOMMENDATION:
Install a fix pack or interim fix that contains this APAR.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
A blank character in a Liberty server's path causes the JVM option that is used to enable verbose garbage collection logging to be split into two JVM options. The JVM does not recognize the options and emits an error, causing the server to not start.

The server start scripts are updated to have quotes around the JVM option used to enable verbose garbage collection.
