Bukit Aman investigating how cop managed to afford two Rolex watches

PETALING JAYA: An internal police investigation has been launched over how a police officer was able to afford two Rolex watches.

Bukit Aman's Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) director Comm Datuk Azri Ahmad confirmed the investigation had been initiated.

"Early investigations confirmed that both watches were bought using money given by his mother and late father, who was a successful businessman.

"JIPS will continue its investigation from several angles," he said in a statement on Saturday (Oct 14).

On Oct 12, a police officer's wife with a Datuk title claimed trial at the Magistrate's Court for stealing two luxury watches from her husband at a house in Pinggiran Rapat Ria in Ipoh two years ago.

Datuk Mou Ei Leen @ Eileen Mou pleaded not guilty after the charge under Section 380 of the Penal Code was read before Magistrate Siti Nora Sharif then.

Mou is alleged to have stolen a Rolex Sky-Dweller (Model 326135) and a Rolex GMT Master-II (Model 116718 LN) in January 2021.
