October 18, 2024
Dear Students, Parents & Guardians,
On October 23, BRHS students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will complete the PSAT during their morning classes. Students in grades 10 and 11 will complete the PSAT/NMSQT and those in grade 9 will complete the PSAT 8/9.
Grades 9, 10, and 11
Students in these grades must arrive by the normal time (7:20 a.m.) and report to their designated testing site, which will be communicated to students prior to October 23. Please make sure your child arrives on time, as no student will be permitted to enter a testing location late. Students will use their district-issued Chromebooks for testing, so be sure they bring them fully charged. There is no make-up date for PSATs if your child arrives late or is absent on this day. Upon conclusion of the PSATs, students will follow a modified B-Day Schedule beginning with Block 4 at 11:12 a.m.
Grade 12
Selected seniors may participate in the PSATs and will be notified beforehand. Otherwise, unless assigned to a specific teacher or location, seniors should not report to school until Block 4 begins at 11:12 a.m.
VoTech Students
Please refer to the VoTech page on our website for potential schedule impact during PSAT administration.
The PSATs are administered at no cost to the student. Results, which are reported only to the student and BRHS, can be used to highlight student growth from year to year. This is an ideal tool to assess college preparedness. Students can use the PSAT to align their academic goals with AP coursework, get feedback on specific areas of improvement, and also provide an opportunity to earn a National Merit Scholarship.
Feel free to contact your school counselor with any questions. Have a great weekend!
Cordially,
Daniel Hemberger
Principal
