Sorry about the sorting, weirdly Jeff doesn't let you rearrange. Maybe I should start presorting and doing some superimposing.

So first of all, this kit came assembled in its shrinkwrapped toolbox, but it was loose as a leaf in the Amazon box with no packing to speak of. Not great, but Amazon's box wasn't banged up at all, so that's fine, right? There's more... the way the toolbox was assembled pre-shrinkwrap, the "shrink" dolly was wedged all weird and put a rip in the lid you'll see at the lower-left corner, and the pick-hammer's pick was banged up against the "double-end" dolly. I rearranged it for you in the first photo to show the ideal layout, which I'll note diverges from the product listing's photo. There are also 3 dented corners on the box which ironically can't be dealt with since the box is double-walled--unrepairable body panels... the irony. But that doesn't matter much because the box is meant to be beaten up. Since nothing appears to have happened in Jeff's box, it must've occurred either on the shelf or before fulfillment.

Bellyaching about the chintzy plastic over. On to the steel; the steel's not quite as bad as it looks in the photos, but that's not saying much. There's a clear coat on all of them that's worn in various places, which looks wrong. It probably just needs to be ground off and it'll be OK. Generally, everything was formed well.

The hammers' hafts were hanged wrong so that the square faces are extremely crooked, which is likely a problem on the round-faced heads as well, albeit less-obvious. The heads themselves are actually good because the eyes are square to the faces. If you could easily rehang the handles this might be OK, but all of the hammerheads' eyes are covered by that weird black stuff. That explains why I see so many complaints about similar hammerheads snapping at the handle--if it happens to me, I will try. I included photos of all 3 hammers' end-grains.

The dollies, like I said, have the same clear-coat blemishes as the hammers. Other than this, they seem formed well enough and truthfully it'd be hard to mess up a one-piece assembly. Strangely, the "double-end" dolly is actually only ground on 1 face, whereas the "shrink" dolly is ground on 3 sides. I can see under the black coat that the "double-end" needs grinding for that side, so it's not just a quirky paint mistake. The "utility" dolly is not hollow like some others I've seen, but the curved side is black-coated unlike the 2 flat sides, so there's a waste of a face. The "corved" dolly (excuse my snark) is fine but the fat part of the comma is not ground all the way, as you can see.

Oh, some real damage. Hold on... There's what I strongly suspect to be a chip in the pick-hammer pick. It's on the inner side of the point where it butted up against the "double end" dolly, and there was a small metal shaving in the toolbox that seems the right size. The pick probably works fine but it's something to think about.

You'll see in the last photo there's an angled face, but it only seems present on the chisel-hammer. I thought it would've been a nice feature to have on all of them, myself. Actually, now that I look at them, the pick-hammer round face also has some slight angling, whereas the double-hammer's faces are angled the opposite direction which is strange and confusing. I mean, not that that matters since first the crookedness has to be fixed.

All in all, what can I say? I don't know how to rate this. Take a chance on an up-and-comer, doesn't quite stick out like you'd hope, but who really expects that to be the case, right? It is really cheap and you get the box, so that's cool. Unfortunately I wouldn't use the square hammers as they are on anything pretty, and the dollies do a lot less than you'd think, but they're serviceable and might be improved, and in some near future I might get a chance to try fixing the hafts, knock on wood. I banged on compound dents with these pretty good and the hafts hold up so far.
