Originally due to take place in autumn 2021, the Rugby League World Cup has been a long time coming but the countdown is really on now - just 50 days to go until the tournament opens at St James' Park in Newcastle on Saturday 15 October. That first game will see England men take on Samoa men. Organisers are expecting it to sell out so get your tickets while you can.
Newcastle is taking its hosting duties seriously and is setting up a fan village on Newcastle Quayside for Friday 14 and Saturday 15 October. A carnival atmosphere is promised for visiting fans and residents, with a range of family-friendly activities, food and drink stalls, activations from RLWC2021 partners, music and big screens, plus a fireworks display on Saturday evening to complete the festivities.
50 days 'til kick off... get it in your diaries!
