PENDLETON — The Old Oregon League and Big Sky Conference will be well represented at the 1A Senior All-Star Basketball Series June 30 and July 1, at Crook County High School in Prineville.
The annual event will have two boys and two girls games on June 30, with the winners playing for the title the next day. The loser of the games will play in the consolation games.
The girls Old Oregon League/High Desert League team will feature Mersayus Hart and Kyella Picard of Nixyaawii, with Golden Eagles coach Aaron Noisy assisting Stub Travis of Crane.
The OOL/HDL team will open play at 4 p.m. June 30 against a team comprised of players from the Casco League and the Mountain West League.
Also on the OOL/HDL team are Leslie Doman and Taylor Joyce of Crane, Tylie Garfield of Huntington, Danielle O’Reilly of Cove, Dale Bingham of Powder Valley and BettyAnn Wilson of Prairie City.
There were no local players chosen to play for the Big Sky Conference/The Valley 10 League team.
Ione’s Bryce Rollins (6-9) and Marcus Radcliffe (6-7) will bring the height to the boys Big Sky Conference/The Valley 10 League team.
The team, which is coached by Jim Hull of South Wasco County and Dawson Nofziger of Country Christian, will face a team with players from the Mountain Valley League and the Skyline League in their opening game at 5:30 p.m. June 30.
Filling out the Big Sky/Valley 10 roster are Jason Kovalchuk, Isaiah Wolcott and Isaac Van Vleet of Open Door Christian, Ian Angers and James Best of South Wasco County, Leo Renzema of Portland Waldorf, Eduardo Rubio of Sherman County, and Rhett Johnson and Matthew Weissenbrunner of Country Christian.
Echo’s Mason Murdock and Dax Davis, along with Nixyaawii’s Aaron Barkley, will play on the boys OOL/HDL team, which will be coached by Nathan Bayes of Adrian.
The OOL/HDL team will open play at 2:30 p.m. June 30 against a team from the Casco and Mountain West Leagues.
The OOL/HDL roster also includes Cole Morgan from Pine Eagle, Carter Bayes from Adrian, Tyler Rea from Huntington, Cole Teel and Eli Wright of Prairie City, Michael Martin of Monument, Blade Suto from Joseph, and Patrick Frisch of Cove.
Admission is $5 per day for adults, $3 for students with an ASB card, and $1 for elementary school students and seniors. Souvenir programs will be available for $5. Concessions will be available.
