MOTORISTS have slammed Bucks County Council over the gritting of roads following Wednesday's snow storm.
The weather caused chaos across the county as roads and public transport ground to a halt, but furious drivers said roads were still treacherous yesterday despite promises by the council that gritters would be out on the roads.
Tim Laffan, of Cromwell Road, High Wycombe, said: "The snow had been predicted for over a week, but still the council and its contractors have been caught with their pants down.
"The whole of High Wycombe came to a grinding halt because none of the roads had been gritted in time."
But Tim Fowler, group manager for area maintenance north, said his team were working 12 hour shifts to keep salt on the roads.
