Intel Arc A380E from ADLINK released

The single-slot and low-profile GPU.

Earlier this week, Intel introduced a new line of graphics solutions based on the Arc Alchemist architecture. These solutions are designed for embedded systems serving various purposes, some of which include gaming.

One of Intel’s board partners, ADLINK, has revealed a graphics card based on the Arc A380E graphics. This card comes with 8 Xe-Cores and 128 XMX Engines, offering low-power consumption at just 50W (which is interestingly below Intel’s reference 75 TD). As a result, it does not require external power connectors. Its compact single-slot, low-profile design measures 171×69 mm.

Primarily designed for “Edge AI” applications, the GPU is intended for tasks like powering video walls, slot machines, video lottery terminals, and games. While gaming is among its capabilities, ADLINK recommends pairing it with Intel Core CPUs for a complete gaming ecosystem.

As an Intel Alchemist-based solution, it supports the OpenVINO open-source toolkit for AI development and can be paired with cameras for real-time on-site AI computation. For gaming, it supports a range of graphics APIs including DirectX12, Vulkan 1.3, OpenGL 4.6, and OpenCL 3.0, and is compatible with both Windows 11 and Linux.

The A380E isn’t available through retail channels, so interested buyers should contact ADLINK for pricing. The demand for single-slot GPUs in a low profile form factor is high among enthusiasts, so it would be great if ADLINK did bring at some of these cards to the DIY market.

ADLINK’s GPU isn’t the only one announced recently. Advantech also revealed their dual-slot Mini-ITX design, featuring a substantial heatsink and single fan, equipped with four full-sized DP ports, in contrast to ADLINK’s four Mini-DisplayPorts.
