RoboCop 1987

Paul Verhoeven's humor isn't subtle but Robocop finds it very funny to be so direct. Everything must address the rich-poor gap and the nation’s unrestrained industrialism. If you take a look at small parts of this dystopian society, like the news reports, the clear goals and vulgar advertising, it is easy to see the destructive nature of society’s desire to "advance." It looks funny at first, but with the current state of businesses and their desire to reach unsuspecting citizens, all of (RoboCop) this goes ahead to solidify the relevance of Paul Verhoeven's social commentary.
