weekly message (December 13th)

Dear Families,

On Friday, December 10th, we were made aware of a concerning post on a student’s SnapChat account that included a non-specific threat. We notified the Somerville Police Department and, as a precaution, we also made the decision to keep students inside during their lunch periods. We did not put the school into any type of secure-and-hold as the threat was non-specific. SPD is continuing to investigate the incident and is working with the student and family.

The last several months have been incredibly challenging for many students as we have continued to navigate the challenges posed by COVID-19. We urge parents and guardians to be vigilant of your child’s social media activity and their access to items that may present a danger to themselves or to others. Please also remind your children of the importance of reporting any concerning social media activity or behavior to a trusted adult so that we can provide the support that is needed. Wednesday, December 15th: PTA Free Book Wednesdays

Thursday, December 16th COVID-19 pool testing

December 24th to January 2nd: Winter Recess - No School

Monday, January 3rd: Classes resume - students return from winter recess

Wednesday, January 12th: Half day - Noon dismissal

Monday, January 17th: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - no school

Monday, January 24th: End of the 2nd Term
