Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, presided over the regular meeting of the Economic Commission at Marmarin Palace. During the meeting, the topics listed on the agenda were discussed. After a comprehensive discussion, it was decided that the Samti Gold Mine in the Chah Ab district of Takhar should be put up for open bidding by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum. Additionally, the Economic Commission advised the Ministry of Water and Energy to cancel the contract for the construction of Arghstan Dam with the Indian company by the National Procurement Commission and proceed with the survey, design, and construction of the dam through open bidding. During the meeting, a committee made up of representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Industry & Trade, and Economy, as well as the General Directorate of the Administrative Affairs and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, was tasked with discussing the directives and decisions made by the leadership of the Islamic Emirate, the cabinet, and the Economic Commission regarding the state-owned corporations. Besides, the committee should look at the law, structure, management, supervision, and other aspects of these corporations and assess if their current structure is effective. In this regard, the committee will draft a comprehensive plan and present it to the Economic Commission.
