COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The A&M softball team is coming off a sweep of Auburn this weekend and it’s the first time in program history the team has been unbeaten in SEC play at home after a pair of series.

The long ball has certainly been a bonus for the Aggies this season.

Leading the team is Trinity Cannon with 10 homers while Allie Enright, Jazmine Hill and Amari Harper each have eight.

The Maroon and White have hit 47 home runs this season and are limiting their opponents to just 17.

“They’re not trying to hit homeruns they’re trying to do damage in the box,” Texas A&M head softball coach Trisha Ford said. “I think there’s a big difference there. We don’t have these big long upper cut swings. They’re swinging out of their shoes. They’re trying to hit the ball and square it up and hit the ball off the wall and obviously good things happen.”

A&M is also outscoring opponents 215 to 66.

The Aggies hit the road for a 3-game series with 6th ranked LSU starting on Thursday.
