The next installments in a series of horror films set in outer space
Sequels to horror films are almost always well received, and audiences eagerly anticipate the arrival of the genre's next really terrifying experience. However, what happens when the antagonists of horror movies go to outer space? The following are five horror movie villains that traveled to outer space. Some of them were successful, while others did not fare as well.The Leprechaun
Leprechaun 4: In Space is the fourth entry in the Leprechaun horror film series. Yes, it is set in space, but that is precisely what makes it so brilliant. Leprechaun 4 is a fantastic illustration of how to transform a completely absurd idea into something "unique." The film is loaded with realistic effects, inventive deaths, and hilarious Leprechaun quips that will have you rolling on the floor. If you are a fan of the Leprechaun series or horror films in general, you must watch Leprechaun 4: In Space.
Pinhead
Hellraiser: Bloodline is a prequel and sequel. Story covers 1700s, 1990s, and 2200s. Let's be honest: I'm just here for Pinhead and the other Cenobites. Doug Bradley maintains a cold, menacing, demonic air when he performs. This is confusing, but who cares? Even if you've watched Hellraiser, Bloodline's Pinhead moments are disturbing. If you loved Clive Barker's Hellraiser, you should read this. Even without any logic, it's a fun ride.
Critters
When I heard that Critters 4 would take place in space, I was interested. I mean, how could they top the Critters movies that came before? But when I looked at the cast list, it didn't look good. Dourif, Brad? Angela Bassett? And a well-known actor from Denmark named Anders Hove? I couldn't figure out how this would work.
And my concerns were verified when I eventually watched Critters 4. The plot, characters, and setting were all dreadful rip-offs of other properties in a horrible setting. What truly hurts from a fan standpoint is that the very features that made the prior entries distinctive and enjoyable are either entirely stripped away or simply not there at all. Critters 4 is a terrible mess and a major letdown.
Dracula
One of the very few awful horror films that is so horrible it's almost unwatchable is Dracula 3000. I adore detesting Dracula 3000. Even though it's terrible the whole time, my primary complaint is that the finale was a complete cop-out and left me feeling absolutely disappointed. "Dracula in Space" wasn't as horrible as I had imagined it would be; rather, it was dreadful. The concept is interesting, but the performance is poor, and the conversation is intolerably annoying. If you want to have a bad day, I suggest viewing it.
Coolio, too. Coolio is in it. Did I mention that before?
Jason Voorhees
Jason X is the most renowned horror sequel with a space villain. Jason Voorhees is an icon. How he Leprechaun in space got there doesn't matter. Why he's in space is unknown. All that counts is Jason is in space and ready to cause mayhem.
I think Jason X is entertaining to watch for the transformation of Jason into Uber Jason as well as the Easter eggs and throwbacks to prior Friday the 13th flicks.
Even though this movie isn't for everyone, it's great for people who like campy, cheesy slasher movies.
