Twins killed in collision with SUV


IPOH: Twin siblings were killed in an accident involving a car and a sports-utility vehicle (SUV) at Jalan Kampung Gajah - Tanjung Tualang near Batu Gajah.

Perak Police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the incident occurred at about 11.30am on Wednesday (Oct 11).

“One of the twins, a 33-year-old woman, was driving and tried to overtake a car in front of them.

“However, she failed, and the car collided with the SUV on the opposite side of the road,” he said on Wednesday.

Comm Mohd Yusri said the twins suffered severe injuries to their head and legs.

“They were pronounced dead at the scene while the SUV driver sustained minor injuries.

“Based on the post mortem conducted at Hospital Changkat Melintang, Parit, both victims died due to ‘polytrauma injuries consistent with road traffic accident,” he said.

He added that those with information about the accident may contact investigating officer Insp Nur Muhammad Aizat Abdullah at 05-371 2222.
