It would be a shame to discuss the greatest action movies of 1980s without Robocop. Paul Verhoeven’s first feature film is still regarded as one the greatest, even though it has been criticized. Robocop, a movie that would have been dismissed in 1980s as harmless action fodder, has gained in popularity over the years. Although it has all the trappings and action movies we love, the magic of Paul Verhoeven’s work shines through. Although I sometimes feel the need to criticize my younger self for not being able to enjoy these things, (news source) I must admit that RoboCop helped to get used to the idea of seeing graphic violence on the screens, which may have contributed towards my eventual success.
