2023 PGS MENTORING PROGRAM APPLICATION
We accepting applications for participation in the 2023 Postgraduate Society Mentoring Program. The deadline to apply is January 15 , 2023.

We invite all interested BTI staff (including visiting scholars) and students to participate in the PGS Mentoring Program. PGS members are are especially encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with BTI alumni, expand your professional network, and explore career pathways. You are also welcome to participate again if you have participated before.

The Mentoring Program will match you ("the mentee") with a BTI alum ("the mentor"), based on your individual career interests and goals. The mentor can provide career advice to their mentee and serve as a professional development resource. The program is flexible and customized to meet the needs of the mentee. Many participants find it useful to meet with their mentors every month or two to discuss career pathways, build a résumé, prepare for interviews, and to gain experience developing a variety of other ‘soft skills’ with their mentor. The program will officially end with the end of 2023, but you are welcome to stay in contact with your mentor in the future.

Note, this application is for anyone interested in participating in the program as a mentee. We are also interested in expanding the network of mentors working outside of BTI. If you would like to nominate someone to participate as a mentor, please contact the organizers.

The online application will take about 15 minutes to complete. You can submit an unfinished application and edit the application after submission.
The application consists of 4 short parts:
Part 1 - Your contact information
Part 2 - Your career interests
Part 3 - What you are looking for in a mentor
Part 4 - Additional information

The mentee-mentor matching will happen during January and February. We will be in contact with you to finalize the pairing at the end of February.

Your application information will be kept confidential by the program organizers. Please don't hesitate to email Anna (ah2247@cornell.edu) or Andreas (hal44@cornell.edu) if you have any questions.
