2022 World City Cup (Abacus, Mental Arithmetic, Math): Abacus Adventures Competition: Strive for Progress - San Francisco Bay Area Registration
"Strive for progress, not perfection."
We hope that our students are able to appreciate and be proud of their work. They do not need to be focused on what something could have been or should be; instead, we’d like them to focus on the next steps – moving forward in a positive way to seek improvement, hopefully with some fun sprinkled in along the way.

During these unprecedented years of the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly all international events and cultural exchanges have stopped. However, CAAA remains dedicated to co-hosting this global event with this year’s host organization (Gunma Prefectural Abacus Federation, Japan – “GPAF”) to motivate our students as both incentive and encouragement to realize their potential and affirm their progress and efforts. It provides a common goal and is something to which we can all look forward.

CAAA and GPAF have developed a hybrid plan for this event – the competition will be held both in-person and online. We look forward to working with all participating teams in the cloud. CAAA will be setting up an in-person competition venue in Las Vegas. Please check the qualification prerequisites to attend this great event, save the date, and plan to attend the 2022 World City Cup LIVE+VIRTUAL competition.

Since Japan is the host of this year's competition, we are returning our eligibility rules to as if we are travelling overseas: this means that you will need to have achieved at least Level 5 to register for the competition; siblings of eligible participants will be allowed to register for the competition regardless of level. If you have questions about this, please contact your teacher, or CAAA.
