Dear members of NAGPS,
As the 34th National Conference of NAGPS (Nov.13-15, 2020) is approaching fast, we are looking for volunteers to serve as the parliamentarian/chair person during the Business Meeting of this virtual conference.
Q: When is the business meeting going to be held:
A: On Nov. 14th, Saturday.
Q:What is the duty of a Parliamentarian?
A: A parliamentarian is a knowledgeable individual in meeting procedures, such as Robert's Rules of Order, who will facilitate the business meeting and election during the 2020 NAGPS national conference.
Q:What is the duty of a Chair Person?
A: Calling the meeting to order; Determining if a quorum is present; Announcing the items on the order of business or agenda as they come up; Recognition of members to have the floor; Enforcing the rules of the group; Putting questions (motions) to a vote, which is the usual way of resolving disagreements following discussion of the issues; Adjourning the meeting.
Q:What is the requirement for being a parliamentarian of NAGPS?
A: - Must be an individual/organizational member of NAGPS during this calendar year;
- Must NOT serve on the NAGPS national or regional board of directors at this time;
- Must have knowledge on and be able to utilize the Robert's Rule of Order.
