Project Connect

Project Connect guide cover The mission of Project Connect is to serve as an outreach program for families and others seeking autism spectrum specific resources in the community. Outreach activities include Camp Connect, the Project Connect Autism Resource Guide and Parents’ Night Out.

The Project Connect Autism Resource Guide is a 112-page PDF. This resource guide is designed as a resource to help parents identify and select services for their children with an autism spectrum disorder. Please note that its large size may keep it from opening in some browsers and some devices.

Camp Connect is a summer day camp for children ages 5-12. The purpose of Camp Connect is for children with autism to have fun while connecting with other children who may or may not have autism. Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are paired with peer mentors with similar interests and of similar age and are supported by University of Arkansas students.

Applications for campers are accepted from Jan. 15 until May 1 each year. The number of campers will be up to 10 children with autism and up to 10 peers each week, so please apply early.

Camp is provided at no cost to families. Families will be notified by May 15 if their child will have a spot for the upcoming summer camp session.

Camp Connect is sponsored by the University of Arkansas Special Education/Autism/Applied Behavior Analysis programs and the University of Arkansas ASD/DD Symposium. Week Three of Camp Connect at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is also sponsored by Loreen Arbus.
