Gates, N.Y. — Our Bright Spot shines on building hope for the future.

Students at Hope Hall School celebrated a special spirit day to kick off the launch of the annual student-led fundraiser "Walk for Hope."

Money raised will go toward the "Hope for Tomorrow" campaign, which will support an expansion project at the school.

The theme students are focusing on during March, is collaboration and cooperation.

Sister Diana Dolce, the founder and executive director of Hope Hall School, said, "The kids know that collaboration means working together to get a job done, but cooperation means the way you do it - with respect, and listening to each others' different ideas, and coming up with new solutions."

Matthew Dengler and Alex Rooksby are seniors at Hope Hall, and say the event is something they look forward to every year.

"I think it's very fun," Rooksby said. "It kind of shows that there's no bullying in the school, and we can all work together in the community.

Dengler said, "We hope to gain friendships with everybody, friendships with teachers, and anybody who is here in the school."

The "Walk for Hope" fundraiser is happening on May 25.
