Oyster Workshop
The work provides a space for learning and sharing local histories, seeing Country through an Indigenous lens and provides an opportunity for the greater community of Sydney residents to participate in the project through the donations and preparation of shell waste to create the sculptures.
Sydney residents can attend workshops to clean and drill oysters, in preparation for the assembly workshops where shells will be drilled to create the final art work.

We also encourage people to save their shells from any events at home, clean them and bring to Addi Road Community Centre where there are marked crates to deposit.

Look for the hot pink signs that say Oyster Shells Only in front of Building 8 (old reverse garbage building) Big Red Building.

We are seeking experienced workshop Coordinators to lead the group of volunteers each day.  It would involve opening the workspace, setting up tables and chairs, directing volunteers to tasks and shutting up at the end of the day.  If this is something you are interested in, please let us know.
