Comments Review – No Vaccine Mandates in Canada Petition

In late August and early September of 2015, Vaccine Choice Canada hosted an on-line petition in opposition to an announced Canadian Medical Association Resolution regarding mandated vaccines without personal or religious exemptions. Within 12 days, over 5000 people had signed the petition.
The No Mandates petition to the CMA and our letter of protest to them were drafted in response to the CMA public announcement in June of a CMA Board recommended “vaccine mandate” resolution that would recommend only medical exemptions for vaccinations for school-age children.
When their resolution was brought to the floor of the CMA conference on August 26, 2015, they had back-stepped and dropped all reference to exemptions. Now they were only calling for governments to mandate an immunization status report requirement for school entry and mandatory parent meetings with public health officials if children were “under vaccinated”.
Whatever plays out in the future, the public response as evinced in comments on the petition site to the announced attempt to mandate vaccination for school children in Canada was both powerful and passionate. The documentation of the response is an important part of the history of public resistance to vaccine mandates in Canada, which began in Ontario in 1982 with the formation of a parent group to resist the provincial mandate of vaccination of school children without personal belief exemptions.
VCC has therefore produced a Comments Review of selected Canadian comments from the petition site. Part 1 of this review shows the public’s political resistance to vaccine mandates for school children. The second part of the comments review enters the realm of vaccine science and vaccine theory. The final part of the review gathers comments for the CMA doctors and the rest of the medical establishment to ponder.
