Teen Titans: Twilight of the Gods (OOC/PG-16/Limited Acceptance/Started)

Don't post it here, especially if it is a villain. We'll want it PM'd to the both of us to keep it a surprise for everyone else. But you may want to wait until the application is released so that you aren't doing any superfluous work, since we don't know exactly in what capacity this will function yet. Saiba and I haven't been able to connect much on this topic yet due to both of our busy schedules. However, we are both very excited about this prospect! Thank you all for your patience!

Or--OR, hear me out--you can pm it to me.  I'll tell you how much I like it.  Spoil it for the entire rp, ruin the villain and make you start over from scratch because HOW DARE YOU MAKE A VILLAIN

Here is the first of our 'NPCs deemed important enough to be given an application'—the man with the plan, Sybil!

[spoiler=Sybil]

"You will rise to meet your destiny. I have seen it."

Personal Information:

Name: Sybil (Birthname unknown)
Age: 38
Gender: Male

[spoiler=Appearance]
Standing at a solid 6" and weighing in at just over 180 lbs., Sybil possesses an athletic, muscular figure with powerful shoulders. He has a Mediterranean complexion with firmly tanned skin, an aquiline nose, a sharp jawline and thick dark hair, cropped short, with wings of gray at the temples, giving him a rather dignified and erudite appearance. His eyes are usually a muted shade of purple, so dark that they seem almost black—upon using his abilities, however, they will flash bright violet. Many characters—including Kiara and Cygnus—have remarked upon his physical attractiveness.

His typical outfit consists of a standard Justice League-issued form-fitting black bodysuit, whose special polyfibers provide enhanced protection against extreme heat, cold, and certain types of radiation, paired with matching gloves and combat boots. His suit is noted for being simple and utilitarian, except for a purple insignia on his chest, depicting a stylized eye.

[spoiler=Personality]
Easy-going, cheerful, and friendly, Sybil excels at forming new relationships with others and fostering cooperation within the junior superhero division known as the Teen Titans North, whom he guides as Senior Adviser. A natural diplomat and nurturing father-figure, he is often tasked with soothing tensions between the members of his unit while encouraging them to grow as individuals. Nevetheless, when push comes to shove, Sybil also possesses a serious side and a deadly focus that prioritizes the success of the mission. While his interaction with the team has largely been limited to orientation and mission briefing, Sybil strives to maintain positive relationships with all of them, based on mutual respect and trust.

Within the Justice League, Sybil ranks highly among his peers, boasting a distinguished service record as well as an innate ability for dealing proportional and equivocal justice. He currently serves the High Council of the Justice League as a special attaché, tasked with handling criminal cases or delegating missions of low- to medium-ranking importance. Rumor has it that the assignment is only temporary, and that before long, Sybil will be well on his way to a permanent seat on the High Council. Despite his relative success, however, Sybil is not exactly a well-known figure. Indeed, among those that know him best, it's rumored that he conceals a mysterious sadness.

[spoiler=Biography]
Sybil is the latest in a long line of clairvoyants hailing from Greece, rumored to be descended from the oracles of ancient times. He is the first of his family to join the Justice League, using his powers to fight crime and protect humanity. Records indicate that Sybil joined the organization at the age of 15 and was assigned as a member of a European regional division of the Teen Titans. From there, he worked his way up steadily through the ranks until he was promoted as a full-fledged member of the Justice League and eventually assigned a team of his own to mentor. Not much is known about Sybil apart from his shining service record—whatever secrets he may have, he guards them closely. However, for someone so friendly, it is rather odd that he hasn't bothered to keep in touch with his former teammates.

[spoiler=Powers & Abilities]
Extrasensory Perception ("Foresight"): Sybil's primary metahuman ability allows him to sense future events before they take place, effectively granting him a sort of 'clairvoyant prediction' or 'fortune-telling' power. Sybil commonly employs this ability in combat situations, allowing him to foresee and effectively counter enemy attacks before the opponent has even launched them, as well as avoid seemingly unpredictable ricochet damage, despite the fact that he is a rather mediocre hand-to-hand combatant with average reflexes. Nevertheless, the ability is not foolproof—like most things in life, destiny is never settled or set in stone; to the contrary, it is often capable of rapid change, especially when multiple independent actors and factors are involved. For these reasons, Sybil tends to use his abilities to sense the future as a guideline rather than a hard rulebook. In some cases, the future can be extremely unpleasant and haunting, making this gift a double-edged sword that is as much a blessing as a curse.
The Third Eye: The nexus of Sybil's clairvoyant powers is located at the center of his forehead. When it manifests on the visible spectrum, it takes an almond-shape, resembling a third 'eye' of bright purple light. The Third Eye allows Sybil to focus his powers to new levels and is capable of launching destructive bolts of violet energy, as well as granting him a form of limited telekinesis.
The Line of Delphi: Sybil is also capable of slipping into a deep meditative trance that allows him to contact the spirits of his ancestors who served as former oracles across the centuries. While this ability has limited direct combat applications, it provides him with access to a wealth of secret knowledge, spanning a wide variety of topics. This ability makes Sybil excellent at deciphering riddles, devising strategies, and obtaining seemingly obscure or otherwise lost information. That said, it is an ability that he uses sparingly, as it tends to physically and mentally exhaust him (much to the chagrin of the Justice League Archives, which are constantly trying to convince him to use it in order to pump him for more information). While using the Line of Delphi, Sybil slips into a seemingly comatose state with reduced heart rate, breathing, and metabolic activity, also making it a possible survival tool in case of limited resources.

[spoiler=Standard Weapons & Equipment]None.

Additional Information:
• In addition to his native Greek, Sybil speaks English, Italian, Albanian, and Turkish.
• Sybil is seemingly embarrassed by his family's long and illustrious history. He tries to hush it up as much as possible.
• Despite his considerable physical charms, Sybil does not appear to be involved with any of his female—or indeed male—colleagues. His private life is thus a source of constant curiosity and speculation among his peers.
• Sybil's Theme: "Temple of Time Remix" - Legend of Zelda

Ren and I will be updating this list of important NPCs as the RP proceeds. Hopefully this helped flesh out Sybil's character a little better for everyone~!

Alright guys, as we continue to work our way through "Spore," I wanted to go ahead and get the ball rolling for those of you interested in applying for those recurring support/villain roles, which might be incorporated as soon as the next mission! Please use the application below, which has been adapted to a sleeker form. Any applications for recurring non-main cast roles should be directed to the GMs (~Renegade~ and myself) via PM - DO NOT POST THEM HERE!!

It's come to my attention that I am the only one of the main cast that hasn't posted episode ideas so...

Diplomatic Affairs: The Titans are tasked with the security of a foreign diplomat who is visiting the Aurora City branch of the UN Headquarters to join the United Nations and bring aid to his people that are suffering at the hands of militant groups in the country. Unfortunately, there are several groups that do not want to see this deal go through. The Titans must be vigilant, there is no telling who their true enemies are or when the next attack will come.

Go Back to Where You Came From!: It's been over a century since human beings and aliens had their first official contact, but anti-alien sentiment is still ingrained within a percentage of the population. A particular extremist group known as 'Homefront' attacked an Extraterrestrial Pride Parade in Aurora City. The Titans have to respond to this threat and stop Homefront before their killings go city-wide.

Disaster Zone: The port district has been hit with a series of high waves, flooding the area. A massive fire has broken out in the west shopping district. Three parking garages have collapsed in the medical center. These string of disasters can't be coincidental, but unfortunately the Titans don't really have time to play detective. They have a city to save.

When Titans Collide: An active mission going on in Sector 3 brings Titans East into Aurora City, hunting a highly dangerous band of criminals. Despite agreeing to work together on the mission, tensions run high between the two teams as they hunt to bring down these elusive criminals.

Hey just a reminder you guys that this is a thing. We are very excited about the potential for recurring characters and villains in the RP. If you are interested in this, go ahead and shoot Saiba and I a PM so we can give you some details on the kind of character we are looking for in our next mission.

Guys, a quick question. Have any of you thought about the next power upgrade you'd like to see your character develop? I'm not saying a power upgrade is incoming right away, but it's always good to start hashing out ideas with plenty of time :)

We're going to have a quick session with Kiara at some point in the near future (most likely off-screen), where she'll instruct all of the Titans on how to at least accomplish and maintain a basic mental defense. But apart from that, any ideas on what new toy your character will be acquiring next?

Yeah, if you could just go aheadddddd, and buff Batsu, that'd be great.  I'm thinking something long the lines of two additional arms, 1000% increased strength, and a built in espresso machine to make use of all that heat.

Oh and how would Kiara make use of a telepathic shield?  Not a mental block, but like a mental projection of an actual shield.  Could she do something like that?

Like either extend the radius of her barrier? Or perhaps create like a mental construct to protect herself?

Kiara is incapable of doing either, at least currently. The idea of mentally projecting a physical shield to protect oneself is really more of a telekinetic power more than it is a telepathic power. Now extending the radius of her barrier is impossible because it is fueled by the sigils on her body, which even at full power has a very limited range. Now if someone were to teach her more about magic, because the barrier is magically founded, then maybe something could be done about that.

I can definitely see late-game Kiara improving her psychic defenses to the point where she can extend her mental barrier and protect the minds of others. As for teaching her more about magic, Cygnus is pretty well-versed in magical theory, since he's studied it so extensively over the last few decades.

As for Cygnus, I'm pretty happy with how he is now, so perhaps I'll simply increase his "mana pool," so to speak, or start showing him using conjured weapons more often. This could take the form of either dual-wielding swords, or summoning some floating ethereal weapons to attack and protect him as he moves around, like a sort of battle-mage. I DO have plans for him to develop healing magic later on, but I want to put that off for a while—I feel like it would be game-breaking to introduce it this early, and I don't want the team's strategy to become "trololol let me just soak up damage and get healed later."

I have not yet...

You know what I want... -w-

Uh-uh, baby, you've got to be specific!

Hmmm.. So currently you've got acrobatics/swiftness/evasiveness, reduced body weight (because of hollow bones), pheromone tracking, web production (through spiders), and on-contact paralyzing poison secreted through the body's extremities. It would be nice if you could somehow increase Ben's actual physical power level, since he's technically a close-range combatant. I'll give it some further thought.

EDIT: If we ever go on a mission to an alien planet, Ben could meet a giant alien spider and tame it as his loyal companion/pet? Nobody would mess with him then!!! Lol, I'm only half-joking!!

Justice Has To Sleep: After a night on patrol the Titans return Titans Tower and ponder whether or not they could ever possibly do enough to save Aurora City from the high crime rate. Forced to turn in for the night, they have to go to bed knowing that every second that they aren't on watch that something horrible is probably happening in their city. And they are right, this mission will focus on 6 individuals, created and played by each of the main cast, in Aurora City that are victims of violent crimes.

Hey all! I've thought up a pretty different mission idea, I think. Tell me if you all would be open to this. I think it would be a lot of fun and would be something kind of unique that RPs don't really do. It would require a little extra work from the main cast that isn't normally required after the initial acceptance process, so keep that in mind.
