Raffles Shipping orders six chemical tankers at Jinhai Heavy

Singapore’s Raffles Shipping International has signed shipbuilding contracts with HNA-affiliated Jinhai Heavy Industry for the construction of six 19,700dwt chemical tankers.

The contract is Jinhai’s first ever chemical tanker order.

The vessels will be classified by Bureau Veritas and deliveries are expected to start from the second half of 2018. Other contract details are not revealed.

Raffles Shipping is a shipping unit of commodity trader Wilmar International. It currently controls a fleet of 56 vessels, of which 38 vessels are chemical tankers.
