Our client is a large and continually growing FMCG business supplying to the major retailers. An exciting position has arisen in their commercial department for a Commercial Assistant. A varied and exciting role this position will be supporting the commercial arm of the business to deliver an excellent product to market.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• To provide a full administrative support service to the commercial and procurement team, including setting up purchase orders and allocating product to specific customers.
• To cover the desk in the absence of the commercial team, managing routine enquiries and escalating issues as appropriate.
• To manage transportation of the product, including liaising with relevant parties.
• To manage stock on its arrival, making decisions based on product quality and customer requirements, rotating stock as required while liaising with the Planning team. Also to plan and order additional stock as required, making judgements based on knowledge of future issues.
• To key in sales and sales orders ensuring Operations are notified and stock is available.
• To develop data, reports and processes to assist the team on its CI journey.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous experience within a Commercial Assistant/Commercial Support role in the food manufacturing or fresh produce sector (Fresh produce desirable).
• Strong organiser who can manage and prioritise workloads
• Excellent communication skills and a team player
