Lead and Corrosion Control in Drinking Water Systems (Hillsboro)

Organized by the PNWS-AWWA Water Research Committee with support from the Water Quality and Water Treatment Committees

This workshop will provide an overview of how water systems can keep lead out of drinking water. It will cover aspects of where lead contamination can originate, treatment processes that can remove lead and other metals, how corrosion impacts lead (and other metals) contamination of water and how it can be mitigated, state and federal regulatory requirements for lead and corrosion control, and case studies in lead and other metals control in drinking water. Case studies will have state-specific references and include best practices for how to control lead and corrosion by-products from contaminating water supplies.

Drinking water operators and engineers will learn how lead can be introduced into drinking water, and how lead contamination can be controlled.
