Bathroom upgrades top list of Canadian renovations in 2016

When it comes to home renovations, it seems Canadians love to flush away their money.

According to a trustedpros.ca report, the bathroom was the number one spot to make upgrades in 2016.

19 per cent of all home renovations took place in bathrooms, with Alberta homeowners willing to spend a little over $9,000 on average to have them done.

The average cost of bathroom renovations is between $2,000 and $13,000.

One reason behind the popularity of this kind of renovation is that the return on investment, which can be as much as 70 to 100 per cent.

Basement renovations were number two at 15 per cent. Deck renovations were third.
