Added to the 1985 Library under the Mr. Fuji Folder: Mr. Fuji & Magnificent Muraco vs Junk Yard Dog & Ricky Steamboat 8/17/85This was from the WWF at a Cap Centre house show. At this point Mr. Fuji had segued into more of a manager/agent role with the occasional match thrown in. He and Don Muraco ran the loop in a program against Ricky Steamboat and a revolving door of face tag partners. A fun match for what it was. The legacy combo of Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura perform commentary duties.

Added to the WWF 1985 Library under the Mr. Fuji Folder: Fuji Vice with Mr Fuji and Don Muraco
This was from the WWF on their USA Network Prime Time show 'Tuesday Night Titans'. This was a parody of the then popular show Miami Vice. Vince was far ahead of his time in realizing that the key to making big money in pro wres was in effectively marketing to a broader audience. This required a format of character development that went beyond the traditional limits imposed by the pseudo-sport booking philosophy that had become an industry staple. A glimpse back at 'sports entertainment' before the advent of 'on staff' Hollywood writers. Not too bad!

MISS ELIZABETH Macho Man Distraction ChartWhen Randy Savage wrestles, he's become quite adept at using Miss Elizabeth to her fullest. Use this chart whenever Savage rolls 6 on level 1 offense. Opponent rolls on Level 1 Offense. 6-8 Play as normal. (If opponent was in control, Savage rolls out of the ring. Added to the WWF 1985 Library under the Mean Gene Okerland Folder: Mean Gene Okerland CVH Release IntroThis was from a Coliseum Home Video release. Mean Gene Okerland was a radio man turned ring announcer...a role in which he would excel. MGO was acquired by the WWF as a result of a mass talent raid on Verne Gagne's AWA promotion. He was a master salesman who handled everything from house show promos to arena interviews to 'last minute pitchman' in PPV teaser programs. His tenure only ended because WCW scooped him up with a more lucrative deal. Although it doesn't get much press or public praise, Vince McMahon has a long history of 'taking care' of those who have served the company's best interest, with Gene (a prime example) currently enjoying the benefits of a 'lifetime employment' contract with WWE. Very well deserved!

TUESDAY NIGHT TITANSKing Tonga FeatureTuesday Night Titans was a weekly talk show (similar to the Tonight Show) with Vince McMahon as host and Lord Alfred Hayes as his sidekick. Wrestlers would come on and talk about various things with Vince and Alfred and also answer questions from a live studio audience (for instance, Big John Studd and Bobby Heenan would come on to talk about the Body Slam Challenge). They would also show matches with the wrestlers that showed up and sometimes their feuding opponent would show up to the set! Set up the show however you like (or don’t at all!), but here’s a recommended format! 1. Vince talks about upcoming WWF events and the wrestlers that will be on the show this evening. 2. Promo by WWF wrestler (doesn’t have to be a wrestler showing up live) 3. First wrestler shows up. He talks about something related to his gimmick with Vince. A match is shown, then the wrestler fields questions from the audience (i.e. “How much can you bench press?”, “Who was your toughest opponent?”, etc.) 4. Another promo from a WWF wrestler (i.e. Muraco and Mr. Fuji present FUJI VICE!) 5. Second wrestler shows up and follows the same format as #3! 6. Perhaps a confrontation or some special event concerning the second wrestler (i.e. karate demonstration from Ricky Steamboat). 7. Vince and company say goodnight, and the show ends!
