Shatrughan Sinha set to join Congress soon

PATNA: BJP MP from Patna Sahib Shatrughan Sinha is likely to join Congress either on Sunday or Monday. The actorturned-politician, popularly known as Shotgun, may make the announcement after BJP declares its candidates in Bihar, probably on Saturday.
“It is almost final that Shatrughan ji will join Congress either on March 24 or 25,” an aide said on Friday. When asked about the reason to join Congress, he said: “Congress is a better option as it would provide Shatrughan ji the opportunity to be in national politics.”
He has made it clear he would contest from Patna Sahib only amid reports that BJP wouldn’t give him nomination.
The two-time MP has fallen out with BJP after the 2015 Bihar assembly polls. Since then, he has been a vocal critic of BJP on several issues and even shared dais with opposition leaders. He criticised Narendra Modi on the ‘chowkidar’ issue with tweets on Holi-eve.
