Recent consultation events
We recently hosted two consultation events for users of the Surrey Performing Arts Library where we asked for your thoughts on various aspects of the proposed NewSPAL service.  Approx. 20 people attended each event with a good mixture of music and drama groups and a few individual users. To read a short update on the progress of the NewSPAL service and recent user consultation events please follow this link: www.newspal.org.uk/haveyoursay.html

Another chance to comment: online survey!

The consultation events have helped us with the questions for a short survey outlining the changes we proposed in the meetings, and anyone who currently uses SPAL or who might be interested in using NewSPAL in future can complete this.

To take part in the short survey please click this link. Deadline Monday 4th November at 10am.

Donation highlights
We recently received a donation of £400 from members of the Abinger D & G Choir. Thank you to all members for this kind donation.

Supporting the NewSPAL fundraising target
NewSPAL still needs to raise approx. £92,000 for the transition work, before it can even open its doors (and become financially self-sustaining).
You can help!
  • Can your group make NewSPAL the beneficiary of a future concert?
  • Include a short advert promoting NewSPAL in future concert programmes?
  • Forward this link to our Virgin Money Giving donation page to your members, friends and any other performing arts contacts!

Question of the month
We received a recent query from a user who was keen to clarify if the entire SPAL collection would be moving with NewSPAL. The answer is yes. The entire collection in its current state will be moving to Woking with us – which includes music and drama sets, chamber music, reference books, DVDs, CDs. We are also hoping to secure a pot of funding for new acquisitions so that over time the collection can continue to grow. Members and groups of the library will be given the opportunity to request titles to be added to the acquisition wish list.

Do you still have questions?
We want to keep supporters up to date through these monthly e-newsletters, but we will also be adding updates to the FAQ page on the NewSPAL website. You can find the FAQs HERE. If you still feel your query hasn’t been answered, please send an email to info@newspal.org.uk and a member of the team will respond.
