Women's Basketball Adds Transfer Forward Faith Stinson

4/21/2025 11:30:00 AM

The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team has added rising senior Faith Stinson, head women's basketball coach Cindy Griffin announced on Monday.

"We are thrilled to welcome Faith to our Hawk family," said Griffin. "Her ability to score, rebound, and defend is evident in her stats over the past three years. Her ability to stretch the floor with her three-ball will be instrumental for our spacing and offensive attack. We can't wait to get Faith on campus this summer!"

Stinson, who spent the last two years at IU Indy, joins Jill Jekot (Penn State) and Cecilia Kay (American) as the third offseason pickup for the Hawks prior to the 2025-26 campaign.

In two seasons with the Jaguars, Stinson made 49 starts and played in 60 games. The rising senior registered 456 points and 309 rebounds over the last two years, earning career-highs in points per game (9.2), rebounds per game (5.3), assists (30), blocks (42) and steals (24) this past season. Stinson also comes off her best shooting performance with a 44.9 percent field goal percentage, while eclipsing 30 percent from distance.

Stinson played her freshman season at Akron, immediately seeing the court with 30 appearances off the bench on the season. In her rookie campaign, Stinson recorded 3.6 points and 3.0 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per contest. The forward registered 12 points on two separate occasions, including her first double-double with a 12-point, 14-rebound performance against Point Park.

A three-year letterwinner at Sheridan High School, Stinson finished her high school career with 982 points, 663 rebounds and 208 blocks. The Thornville, Ohio native averaged 19.7 points and 12.2 rebounds per game as a senior, earning Southeast District Player of the Year honors. Stinson was a two-time First Team All-Ohio, First Team All-MVL and First Team All-Southeast District standout over her time at Sheridan, helping the Generals to three-consecutive district championships over her high school career.
