Ruth J. Williams, age 89 of Howell, passed away at her home, Sunday, November 18, 2007. She was born April 10, 1918 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of James L. and Wilhimena K. (Lehr) Bell. Beloved wife of Reverend Donald E. Williams, whom she married June 9, 1945 in Chicago; dear mother of Mark (Mary Beth) Williams of Snow Hill, MD, Paul Williams of Aptos, CA, Daniel (Cindy) Williams of Howell and Beth (Tim) Anthony of Farmington Hills. Also survived by four grandchildren, sisters, Alice Kelley of Carol Stream, IL and Vera (Robert) O’Haver of San Jose, CA. Preceding in death was her sister, Pearl Carrol and brother, James Bell, Jr. Ruth was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Howell since 1967, serving on multiple committees and singing in the choir; past president of American Baptist Women of Michigan and serving on the board of directors of Michigan Baptist Homes. She was a member of Howell Delphians and volunteered at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital. Memorial services will be Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Rev. Herb Wilson, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800). Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.
