Carrotmob Launch!

Carrotmob organizes consumers to make purchases, rewarding companies who make environmentally friendly choices. This is our first campaign ever.

On Saturday, March 29th, at 1pm, come to K & D Market (on 16th St at Guerrero in San Francisco) and buy whatever you want. Buy a lot. We're going to be tracking everyone's purchases and then calculating how much revenue we brought to the store. K & D has committed to spending 22% of all the revenue we bring in on energy-saving measures identified by an SF Energy Watch audit, in order to make their store more environmentally friendly! This was the result of a bidding war, which they won, prevailing as the store most committed to environmental improvement among its competitors. You can buy all the things you usually buy, for the same price, but the more you spend during this event, the more money will go towards installing cutting-edge refrigeration and lighting equipment to help stop global warming. After we buy the place out, we're walking around the corner to Dolores Park to celebrate the launch of Carrotmob. This involves chilling in the sunshine, enjoying the slammin beats and fiendishly tight lyricism of the Mission District's freshest MC, 1865, and then dancing your face off to Tahoe's finest rock and roll band, the high-altitude, funk-hop, reggae-grass, violin-wielding styles of Blue Turtle Seduction!

What to bring: CASH (no credit), shopping bags if they're handy.
What to wear: Two options: Either dress like you are in a hip hop music video (fly girl, stuntin like yo daddy, etc...) OR dress like a normal person.
When to show up: If you dress like you are in a hip hop music video, show up at 12:30 and we'll put you in our hip hop music video. Otherwise show up at 1. If you can't make it until 2, that's cool, most of us will still be around, but by 2:30 we will probably be moving on to Dolores Park, unless there's still a line around the block or something.
